Services for Enice Taylor (Doc) Boon Sr., 89, Tyler, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Revs. Kim Beckham and David Tarr officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.

Mr. Boon died Sept. 25, 2007, in Tyler. He was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Cass County to the late Enice Taylor Boon and Eula Whittington Boon. Mr. Boon has lived in Tyler since 1924, was a salesman for wholesale meats, and a member of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Boon in 2005. He is survived by sons, E.T. Boon Jr. of Allen, and Mark Lee Boon of Longview; daughter, Nell Bess of San Antonio; sister, Eula Rose Anderson of Tyler; grandchildren, Taylor Boon, Kimbra Crawford, Holly Rosof, Eric Bess, Trent Bess, Ryan Boon and LeAnna Boon; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Boon, Eric Bess, Trent Bess, Ryan Boon, Reuben Rosof, Tom Anderson, Doug Crawford, Dean Johnston and Rudy Turner.

Family will receive friends at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, 215 E. Front St., Wednesday 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church, 6253 New Copeland Road, Tyler, 75703.
