MOUNT CARMEL - Anna Mae Russell Lawson, 85, formerly of Mount Carmel, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning (Oct. 23, 2005) following an extended illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. Anna Mae was a member of Cobbs Chapel Baptist Church in Clinch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd H. Lawson; two grandsons, Joel Slemp and Shone Lawson; her parents, Fate and Nora Lawson Russell; along with several brothers and sisters.

Anne Mae is survived by her two daughters, Janyce Cusack of Dallas, Tex., and Joyce Flannary of Kingsport; a son, Dude Lawson of Mount Carmel; seven grandchildren, Michael Cusack, Robyn Nicholson, Gena Steele, Ritchie Harris, Christopher Flannary, Gary Stephen Lawson and Heather Lawson; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah, Marilyn, Lena and Sue; two brothers, Roy and Arnold; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home of Church Hill or friends may call anytime at the daughter's residence, Joyce Flannary, 813 Morison Ave., Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Mitch Russell, youth director at First Freewill Baptist Church of Church Hill, officiating.
