According to his naturalization petition he was born in Wysokie [vɨˈsɔkʲɛ]. This is a village in Lublin County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Wysokie. (I don't have any known connection to him, but my Kirschners were from Polish Orla near Bielsk, not far from Wysokie).

The naturalization record indicates he came to NY 10 Apr. 1902 via Bremen, Germany. It indicates all of his children with Anna were born in Passaic, NJ:
