Bertha A. "Bert" Braun, 90, Decatur, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the nursing center at Woodcrest Retirement Community. She was born in Adams County on March 12, 1918, to Charles and Alinda Zwick Graft. She married Martin C. Braun on June 20, 1942; he died on January 29, 1996. She retired in 1982 after 16 years at the General Electric Co. plant in Fort Wayne and was member of the General Electric ALEX Club. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church at Bingen and its Ladies' Guild and Ladies' Aid organization. Surviving are two sons, Dennis L. and Duane Braun of rural Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Steve (LaDonna K.) McBride of rural Decatur; two brothers, Ralph Graft of New Haven and Ray Graft of rural Hoagland; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister are deceased. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Preferred memorials are to the church, to the "Worship for Shut-Ins" program, or to the donor's choice.
