LAS VEGAS, NV. - 8/7/1920
NEVADA PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH CLARK COUNTY WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN FRONT YARD OF HER HOME NEAR ROX STATION

At six o'clock Wednesday morning, August 4th, Mrs. Emeline Davis Huntsman was found lying dead in the front yard of her home, the Huntsman ranch(Kane Springs), about three miles west (my note: 3 mis. south) of Rox station (in Muddy Valley Wash). It was evident from the condition of the body that she had been dead several days. She was last seen alive on Friday, July 30th, when she came up to Rox and spent the afternoon with her son, Frank Huntsman, who is section foreman at that place. On the night of August 4th there was a severe storm around Rox and the son went down the canyon to see that all points on the railroad were clear and when he returned he went down to his mother's home to see if she were well and found her dead. Fearing that she might have been murdered he wired for the coroner who arrived about noon. After a careful examination of the body and the surroundings it was decided that she came to her death from hemmorrhage of the lungs. The body was taken to Overton, where it was buried beside her husband, David O. Huntsman, who died in 1907.

The deceased was a pioneer and had lived in Nevada for the past 30 years. She was well and favorably known to the majority of the people of Clark and Lincoln counties. She leaves surviving her six sons James William, Lorenzo, Alonzo, Frank and Julius, and a daughter, Mrs. Amelia Shelton, who have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.

She died at the family homestead (160 acres) named Kane Springs 12 miles North of Moapa, NV
