My Great Grandfather

Son of Patrick & Honora(Burke) ~ Husband of Bridget (Fahey) Tierney ~ Father to Frank, John, Martin, Thomas, & Mary ~ Grandfather to Francis, Anthony, James, Joseph {Children of Mary} ~ Claire, Lois & John {Children of John} ~ Robert & Julia {Children of Francis} ~

Thomas came to America from Ireland in 1886
~ He resided in Windsor Locks and worked on the "Canal" as a laborer he was also a communicant of St. Mary's Church ~

In 1905 he took the 2 youngest children Thomas & Mary back to Ireland with him, he never came back to America ~ No one in my Dad's generation or mine knows anything about Thomas ~ I only know that my Grandmother Mary(his daughter) loved him very much ~ So what ever happened God only knows ~ I just hope that he knows that he has family that thinks about him and loves him ~ I found that he passed away in 1925, that is the last time that my Grandmother visited Ireland ~

Many days have gone by, turned into years long ago, I reach for my album, because I long for you so~

As colourful leaves descend from a majestic family tree, That moment is captured becoming a photographic memory~

Ancestors on tintype, images frozen in time, So we know who we are, have been passed down the line~

Black and white prints of grandparents now yellowed by age, In the "Book Of Life" this collection forms the next page~

Snapshots of a beautiful young women, a man with eyes sky blue soon to become parents of a baby daughter and little boys "four"~

Because of these treasures, my link to the past memories of my loved ones forever will last~

And when a dear friend asks me my life story to impart, I'll show her my "inheritance", the people who live in my heart~
