Clyde was born April 27, 1959, to Adron and Virginia Cropp. He grew up in Spotsylvania County and was a 1977 graduate of Spotsylvania High School.

Clyde was a Utility Inspector II for Prince William County Service Authority for more than 27 years. He was an avid softball player who traveled all over the country playing in tournaments with several different area teams. He also loved golf.

Clyde was a member of Spotswood Baptist Church, where he actively served his Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Mindy Cropp; his children, Heather Cropp and James Cropp, both of the home; his mother, Virginia Cropp of Spotsylvania; three brothers, Michael Gill and Ronald Cropp, both of Spotsylvania, and Stephen Cropp of Longs, S.C.; four sisters, Sandra Farmer, Pam Jandrosits and Patricia Martin all of Spotsylvania, and Janet Riddell of Covington, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Adron Cropp, and a sister, Lynda Sousa.

Pallbearers were Tyler Newton Jr., Nicky Farmer, Jeffery Farmer, Richard Cropp, Andrew Shin, Donald Farmer, Jackie Martin and Johnny Wharton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dempsey ABF class.
