Paul was born January 17, 1935 in Rigby, Idaho to Earnest W. Dutson and Welda Grover Dutson as the eldest of five children.
He spent his youth in the outdoors which he enjoyed throughout his life. He loved fishing, the mountains, "stompin' in the desert", collections (watches, knives, guns, pens, and 'walking sticks') and he especially loved people.
He loved meeting people and enjoyed any conversation. Throughout his seventy-five years, he had friends from all walks of life, and was generous with whatever means he had. Paul loved learning and had knowledge on any topic. He had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and the atonement and was a devoted church member. He is remembered for his acceptance and friendships with all people and for his clever sense of humour.
He is survived by his children Lynne (Rick) Nelson, Matt (Tristi) Pinkston, Michelle (Paul) Meade, Thomas (Natalie) Dutson, John (Heather) Dutson, Steve (Jenny) Dutson; nineteen grandchildren; along with his siblings Roger (Anita) Dutson, Dianne (Darrell) Saunders, Annette (Roger) Andersen, and Mical (Mary) Dutson.
