Born 12 September 1887, according to his WW-I draft registration [dated 5 June 1917] in Davenport, Devonshire, England.

On 13 Aug 1914, Albert married Agnes Ethel Koroll in Monroe, WA; she was age 20, he was 26. Born 5 February 1894 in Swanville, MN; Agnes was the third of seven children born to John & Bridget (Wotzka) Koroll,

In 1917 he already was a locomotive engineer for Great Northern Railroad (Cascade Division). He was described as being of medium height & build; with blue eyes and slightly balding brown hair.

From Klamath County History (1984): "Albert Edward Finch brought his family, wife Agnes E., children Charles, Frances and Joyce to Klamath Falls in 1929, at that time, working on the Great Northern Railroad. He became an engineer and after retirement he and his wife enjoyed many years here with family and friends before moving to Edmonds, Washington in 1965 to be near their youngest daughter and her husband Keith Lewis."
