Erie herself had no children of her own, but acted as a Mother to Carl Farris, son of Edd Farris who she later married after Edd divorced her sister May Edna. Erie was known by all to be a loving Mother and wife.

Mrs. Erie Ellen Farris, wife of Edd Farris, died at the residence, 3107 Carpenter St. Monday.
Survived by husband, one son, Carl W. Farris, two grandchildren, Max Edd Farris, all of Dallas and Frances M. Farris, Texas City, Texas; mother, Mrs. A. F. Henderson, Dallas, two sisters, Mrs. James D. Riley, Dallas; Mrs. W. D. Carter, Ft. Worth; brother J. B. Henderson; Longview, Wash.
Services Wednesday 2 p.m. chapel of Ed C Smith & Bros., Rev. William H. James officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park, Ft. Worth, Texas. Pallbearers: Tom Carter, Sid Weatherford, John Kelleher, Jesse Barder, B. O. Carter, Ed Sorrels.
