Jacob Chapman Webber, 84, of Route 1, Blue Ridge, died Sunday morning at his home. He was deacon at Glade Creek Baptist Church and a lifelong resident and farmer of Bedford County. Surviving are one stepson, W. C. Bolling, Jr., Vinton; two step-daughters, Mrs. C. E. Perdue, Mrs. P. O. Poff, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Goad, Roanoke; Mrs. Sallie Overstreet, St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, Burton Webber, Roanoke; Lewis M. Webber, Blue Ridge; Sydney Webber, Lynchburg; and five stepgrandchildren. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glade Creek Baptist by the Rev. Charles E. Davis and the Rev. Emerson S. Fike. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nelson Cook, Herman Tyler, Russell Letchford, Anthony Leonard, J. L. Huff and Raymond Clinebell. The body will be taken to the church by Lotz Funeral Home at noon.
