She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Philadelphia. where she played piano and organ and was a member of the choir. She and sisters Mildred and Candace performed as the "Banks Trio". She was a member of Eastern Star, Qui Vive Literary Club and McDowell and Fortnightly Music Clubs. She was employed at Reeves Steel Co. in Dover during World War II and later as a sewing instructor at Singer Sewing Center in New Philadelphia. Preceded in death by her parents James and Ada Banks, her husband Emory Battershell, sister Mildred Scott and brothers Donald and Willard Banks. She was survived by 3 children and 10 grandchildren and one sister.
