Judah HOPKINS (1677 – )
Hannah MAYO (1680 – 1719)
Judah's Parents:
Stephen HOPKINS (1642 - 1718)
Mary Merrick (Myrick) HOPKINS
(Note that at this time three generations [Sylvanus, Judah, Stephen] are missing grave information.)
Stephen (Rosseter's double great grandfather) was the son of Giles & Catherine (Whelden) Hopkins. Giles in turn was the son of Stephen & Mary Hopkins. Mary Hopkins died in 1613 in England. In 1620, Stephen, his children by Mary (daughter Constance and son Giles), his second wife Elizabeth who was pregnant, and their son Damaris sailed on the Mayflower to Plymouth colony. Elizabeth was the only woman to give birth during the voyage. They named that daughter Oceanus.
Note, Stephen was not a Pilgrim, but was hired on as someone who could assist with their venture since he had traveled to the new world on previous ships...
Thus, Rosseter is the quadruple great grandson of Stephen Hopkins from the Mayflower.
(My relationship is that Rosseter is my quadruple great grandfather. He is my paternal grandfather's paternal grandmother's paternal grandfather: [mini tree]

Note (3-Mar-2018): I'm not sure of the source, but I originally had his birth date as 20-April-1794. However, a record on his birth date from Connecticut records had it as the 28th. I cannot see the original record, but for now I will change the date to the 28th.
