Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Barrett Funeral Home Chapel for Avery Barron, 76. Mr. Baron died late Monday night at a local rest home after a long illness. Burial will be in the West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Barrett Funeral Home.
Mr. Barron was born February 7, 1891, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Barron. He came to Texas as a child with his parents and grew up and attended school at Howe. He had farmed and had worked for the City until his retirement. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army.
Survivors are one son, Carl Barron; three grandchildren; Carl Wayne Barron, Carroll Ann Barron and Pamela Barron all of Sherman; three nieces, Mrs. George (Eunice) Hall of Pilot Point; Kathleen Dederick of Sherman and Mrs. Lelia Stover of Pampa; three nephews, Grady Barron of Sherman; Leon Barron of Gainesville; and Claude Ruffin of Vallejo, California; and a sister-in-law Mrs. Henry (Esther) Barron of Sherman.
