Peter was born on February 18, 1869 in Richfield Township, Lucas County, Ohio to Michael L & Rosa (Bruck) Snyder. On May 3, 1892, he married Anna Theresa Herr and they had six children. Florence, Jerome, Veronica, Esther, Ambrose and Mildred. After Anna died, he married his housekeeper/babysitter, Rose Fackelman on November 23, 1904. Together, they had five children: Lucille, Paul, Alberta, Albert and Michael.

Peter was a farmer in Montiplier, Williams, Ohio. During the 1940's in the winter months, Peter would go to Dade, Florida and build small tenant homes.

He died on December 30, 1950 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio.
