VERNON, Ala. ? Maud Montree Pennington, 75, died Aug. 11, 2008, atFayette Medical Center-DCH. Services were today at 11 a.m. at ChandlerFuneral Home in Vernon with Pastor Wade Peoples officiating. Buriall followed at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon.Mrs. Pennington was born Nov. 4, 1932, in Marion County, Ala., to the late Dan and Artie Bell Belk. She worked as a seamstress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hozie W. Pennington; and brother, Jack Belk. She is survived by her sons, Hozie Pennington of Fort Belvoir, Va., and John, Terry Lee and Robert K. Pennington, all of Vernon; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
