Bedford – John R. Fitzgerald, 68, of Bedford, died at 12:05 am on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Westview Nursing & Rehab. Center in Bedford.
Born February 20, 1942 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of John Fitzgerald and Gilberta (Huff) Lutz. He married Patty (Pace) Dougherty on June 14, 1996 and she survives. He was a mechanic for Cotton's Auto Service for forty-two years and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving with his wife, Patty, of Bedford are three sons, James Fitzgerald and wife, Judy of London, KY, Christopher Wade Fitzgerald of Bedford and Warren Travis Fitzgerald and wife, Misti, of Bedford; two step-daughters, Jamie Smith and companion, Jeff Deliman of Avoca and Jackie Lipscomb and husband, Rob, of Heltonville; three grandchildren, Stephen Fitzgerald, Laken Fender and Sarah Fitzgerald all of Bedford; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Stevens and wife, Ashley of Indianapolis, Michael Lipscomb of Bedford, Casey Smith of Bedford, Seth Lipscomb of Heltonville, Ethan Lipscomb of Heltonville and Hayden Smith of Bedford and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Sarah, two sisters, Marsha Lutz and Connie Asher

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, April 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: James Fitzgerald, Christopher Wade Fitzgerald, Warren Travis Fitzgerald, Rob Lipscomb, Nick Pace and Danny Pace.
