Died at her home mid midway between here and Ipava, Saturday, Aug. 2nd of paralysis. Mrs Cadwalader was stricken with paralysis nearly two years ago, from which she never recovered so as to be able to be around without help and suffered a second attack a few days ago which caused her death. Her maiden name was Elizabeth AKERSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Garrett Akerson of New Jersey, who emigrated to this country at a very early day. She married to Mr. Isaac Cadwalader in 1831. They settled on a farm a few rods from where they resided at her death, first living in a log cabin.
Mr Cadwalader who survives her, was born in 1800 and came to this state in 1829, The Cadwalader family are widely known all over this country and none are better respected. For nearly sixty years Uncle Ike and wife have lived together, loved and respected by every one.
Commencing life as they did in the old pioneer days, when mutual hardships and dangers made all the early settlers dependent upon one another they formed those habits of sociability and hospitality that have remained with them through all the changes through which the country has passed, in its transition from a wilderness to one of well cutivated farms, pleasant homes and prosperous town. Mrs Cadwalader noble performed her part in those trying times, proving a faithful wife, loving mother and true friend. Her home was her Kingdom that was ruled by love. She has laid down her task at the end of an eventful life, her departure regreted by all. Her funeral was Sunday last the remains being interred in the Derry cemetery, east of here.
