Norman Frederick Allen was born May 4, 1927 to Lovell H. And Mary Philhower in Greenwich, Connecticut. His schooling was completed in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. He faithfully served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1948. He married Beverly Desmond and had three children, Shelia Allen of Salt Lake City, Gregory Allen (Barbara) of Las Vegas, and Christopher of Salt Lake City. They divorced and he married Marian Brown on April 3, 1964. He was employed with Pace-Turpin Industries in Salt Lake City for 28 years. Survived by wife Marian, daughter Shelia Allen, two sons Gregory and Christopher, five grandsons, four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, father Lovell, sister Norma, brother John (Jane) and half brother Kevin (Donna). Preceded in death by mother Mary, stepmother Sarah, half sister Karen and grandson Jonathan. The Family wishes to thank everyone at the Utah VA Nursing Home and Harmony Hospice. Their excellent care and concern given to Fred and the family was overwhelming! A memorial gathering was held in his honor at Lynn Brown's house (10621 S. 1055 West, South Jordan) on Sat. August 25th. In Lieu of flowers, contributions would be graciously accepted at the Salt Lake City Homeless Shelter.
