George lived on a farm between Augustaville and Irish Valley. He was the son of George, Sr. and A. Margaret (nee Overpeck) Haupt; the brother of John, Maria Flook, Elizabeth, Samuel, David, Sebastian, Mary Polly Shipe, Henry and Jacob; the husband of Sara (nee Oberdorf) and the father of Sarah Bare, Frederick Wilheim, Isaac, Jacob, Eliza, Henry, Samuel, Harriett Masser, Mary Bollinger, Jeremiah, Dinah, Simeon and Margaret Wynn. One of his sons, Jeremiah, died while serving his country during the Civil War.
