Mrs. Irva E. McMillian, 65, Rialto, Calif., formerly of Brownstown and Loogootee communities, died at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6. She had been a resident of Rialto two years sharing a home with her sons.
Daughter of William Jackson and Fannie Bullard Jackson, Irva was born Dec. 11, 1896 at Marshall, Ill. Her husband the late Silas McMillan.
She leaves sons, Abie and Theodore Peters, both of Rialto; sisters, Mrs. Garnetta Oberlink and Mrs. Irma Bruegger, both of Brownstown; brothers, Eugene Jackson of Dalton City, Ill., and Herman Jackson of Lexington, Ill. and seven grandchildren. Three sisters and four brothers are deceased.
Mrs. McMillian was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church. A great part of her life had been lived in and around Loogootee and Brownstown areas.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 in the Brownstown Christian Church, by Rev. Charles Simpkins, Methodist minister of St. Elmo. Burial in Reform Cemetery near Old Loogootee by Route 185 with Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown, in charge.
