Lucy Ann Terpening, 3255 Robin Road, wife of Arthur F. Terpening, died at her home at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 25 January 1987.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, 27 January, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glynn Vickers officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Terpening was born 23 February 1921, in Sapulpa,Creek County Oklahoma, a daughter of Charles and Josephine Adkins Barnett. She attended Kinta, Oklahoma, schools and received a degree from Oklahoma State University. She married Mr. Terpening on 1 February 1942, at San Antonio. They moved to Paris in 1961.

She was associated with Epps Hill Insurance Agency from 1961 and purchased the business in 1974. She was a longtime member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and had been a member of the Paris club since 1975. She had served as president of the club and was named Business Woman of the Year in 1979. She had served the club in every office and on most committees. She had served as chairman of the Women's Division of the United Fund and had served on the Chamber of Commerce's Planning and Zoning Committee. For three years she served on the advisory board of Office Occupations at Paris Junior College. She was a member of the board of the Lamar County Drug and Alcohol Abuse and was the first female president of the Paris Independent Insurance Association. She was a member of the Paris Downtown Development Association.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Severn and Jean Townsend of Austin; one son, Charles Terpening of Dallas; one granddaughter, Tangi Terpening of Austin; three sisters, Mary Snow of Kinta, Oklahoma, Naomi Boggs of Kinta and Ada McBreide of Stigler, Oklahoma, and a brother, Jones Baranett of Kinta.
