Clarence was the son of Richard Bennett and Martha "Mattie" Redman. He was first married to Anna Mae Jenkins, in 1910. Clarence and Anna were the parents of one son, George Richard Bennett who died as an infant. After Anna's death in 1911, Clarence married Nora Clark in Franklin County, Kentucky in 1912. Clarence and Nora were the parents of one son, Cecil Lee Bennett. Clarence and Nora resided in Fayette County, Kentucky at the time of his death.
