Robert Douglas Young Jr., 79, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 18, 2002, at White County Community Hospital.
Young was born March 30, 1922, in Sparta, to Robert Douglas and Ialeen Marie Randol Young.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a systems analyst.
Young was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Green Young of Sparta; one son, Gary Young of Shreveport, La.; three daughters, Marcia Jane Benson of Sparta, Molly Wenzel of Kingston and Ellen Loveless of Woodbury; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Jan 21, 2002, at Highland Cemetery. Wayne Perry will officiate.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
