On the 2d inst, Romanus Zerkel, a worthy and respectable citizen of German township, while in the act of oiling the gearing of his saw mill, was caught by the arm and drawn by the segments of the wheels, crushing it and breaking his ribs. He was found in this condition by his wife and mother, who called to some men that chanced to be nigh, who succeeded in liberating him.
