Mrs. Bartell was born to William and Flora Hunt at the family ranch near Oak Run.
She was one of their 11 children raised on the family ranch.
She graduated from Shasta High School in Redding, then wet to Chico State Teachers College.
She married Robert "Bob" Bartell on July 8, 1934.
In 1942, the W.H. Hunt Estate Co. bought a ranch near Bieber and she and her husband moved there to run it.
After their three children were in school, Mrs. Bartell taught the primary grades at Bieber Elementary School for several years.
When her brother, Geroge, died, she became president of the W.H. Hunt Estate Co. and her husband was the manager. After the ranch was sold, they moved to Langell Valley later to their son's ranch in Sprague River, where they lived until poor health caused them to move to Klamath Falls.
She was a member of Millville Rebekah Lodge No. 3, I.O.O.F., NDGW Mt. Lassen Parlor No. 215, and Shasta County Historical Society, and was a Lassen County 4-H leader.
Mrs. Bartell loved big family get togethers and cooking meals for the holidays or anytime somebody stopped by. She enjoyed taking care of her large garden and showing people her flowers and her many picture albums.
She also liked having her grandchildren visit her and always had a cookie jar full with cookies for them. She also enjoyed playing games with them. Her favorite card game was double solitaire, which she would play with anyone willing to play.
Survivors inlcuder her sister, Helen Aberg; her children, Robert "Bob" Bartell Jr. of Sprague River, George Bartell, Palo Cedro, Calif., and Shirley Goodyear, Blackfoot, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

BARTELL- Former Shasta County resident Hattie Hunt Bartell 89 of Klamath Falls, Ore., died Saturday in Klamath Falls. Arrangements are by Wards Funeral Home in Klamath Falls.
