" J.C. Rogers, 53 years old, died Thursday afternoon at a local hospital. He is
survived by his wife, two sons, B.F. Rogers and Henderson Rogers, and one
daughter, Mrs. C.T. Duncan, all of Maysville, Okla.; mother, Mrs. Martha Rogers
of Cameron, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Lina R. Kemp and Mrs. Ella Hooks of
Cameron, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Harkrider of Abilene, Texas; and one brother,
Williams Rogers of Cameron, Texas. The body will be forwarded by Marshall &
Harper Friday morning to Maysville for funeral services and burial."
Mr. Rogers was the son of Major Jefferson Carroll Rogers of Company G, 5th Texas Infantry. Maj Carroll was also elected Sheriff of Milam County, Texas on Aug 7, 1854; re-elected Aug 4, 1856 and served until Aug 2, 1858.
