He received the "Award for "Outstanding Citizenship" for his service as a juror in September 1980. He was 76 years old when he passed away Monday, April 26, 2010, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Michigan. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, one son three brothers, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law and two daughters-in-law.
A graveside service was held on April 28, 2010, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. He was laid to rest at a grave alongside his mother, Mary Eva (Wolford) Cauffman and his brother, Richard L. Cauffman.
