"Justin, son of Mr. Jonathan Eastman Died June 11th AD 1772 in the 8th year of his age." Only three years after the birth of Napolean, and the same before the beginning of the Revolution." This inscription is thought to be the oldest in the Town of Rupert, Bennington County, Vermont.
