Bernice Tyner was the daughter of Thurlough & Rena Johnson Langley. She was associated with Sonoco Products Co., and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. Her first husband was Lawrence Tyner. After he died in 1933 she married his brother Marion H. Tyner, Sr. She was survived by six sons, Frank, Raymond, Rudolph, Carson, James, and Marion, Jr.
