Native of France Dies
Jackson Regot died at his home near Depauw, July 4 1916, age 83 years. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at nine o' clock from St. Bernards Catholic church at Frenchtown, conducted by the Rev. Father Bracher and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery on the hll south of the church.
Mr Regot was a native of Silles, France, and came to this country with his parents in 1847. They came over on the French sail vessel, La Vesta, and were 55 day on the ocean. He was the last surviving one of the family. In 1857 he was married to Miss Jeanne Amelie Troncin who also came over on the same vessel with her parents. They were married in the little log Catholic church at Frenchtown by the late Father Deaun a French Catholic Priest.
Mr Regot spent all his life in Harrison County with the exception of a few years spent in Missouri and Iowa.

Referring again to the death of "Uncle Jackson Regot, who died at his home in Spencer township, July 4, to make corrrection, we state that he fell and severely injured his shoulder several months before his death, and that he fell again on July 1st and fractured his right thigh bone, which hastened, and probably caused, his death three days later. Also Mr. Regot came from France to this country with his parents when he was fourteen years old. Mrs. Regot who survives her husband, came over on the same vessel at the same time at the age of eight years. Her madien name was Troncin
