Charles Stewart Newport, Ind.

Charles Porter Stewart, 76, a life resident of Newport; died Saturday (July 8, 1967 at 4 p.m. in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born Jan. 16, 1891 in Portertown, Ind., son of Dora and Flora Frazier Stewart.
He was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge and a retired farmer and carpenter.
He was married Dec. 20,1911 to Vivian Brown of Newport who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen Hubble, Martinsville, Ill., Mrs.Maxine Russell of Westminister, Calif., and Mrs. Louise Bush, Rockville, Ind.; a son Harry of Crawfordsville; three brothers, John of Chicago, Sam of' Long Beach,Calif., and Howard of Versailles, Ind.; one sister, Mrs.Iva Adams, Clinton, Ind.; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Watson Funeral Home in Cayuga where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m, Tuesday with the Rev. Clarence Ozier of the Friends Church and the Rev. Ned Bell of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery.
