Son of Ted Garrett and Gladys Crabtree. Cletus married Bertha Mae Dye and had three children: Jimmy, Jerry, and Tammie Garrett. Cletus's second wife was Karen Jansson. Cletus and Karen got a divorce a few years before his death.
Cletus was preceded in death by his parents,and his son Jerry Lee Garrett. He is survived by his son Jimmy Ray Garrett, and daughter Tammie Coy.

Cletus R. Garrett, 61, Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2006 at KU Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 18, at the Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Services under the direction of Polly Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO (816-630-3388).
