Clarence Christian Bachert, 95, Greencastle, died Friday at Millpond Health Campus.

Born in Tuscola, Ill., he was the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Sipp) Bachert. He married Julia J. O'Hair on Feb. 26, 1949. She preceded him in death.

He was a lifelong farmer and member of the American Legion.

Survivors include a stepson, Robert C. and wife Donna Miles, Coatesville; brother, Roy and wife Marjorie Bachert, Roachdale; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Glen, Montel and John Bachert, sisters Blanche Simpson and Viola Bachert.
