Final Rites Held Sunday For Mrs. Massengill

Final rites for Mrs. Florence Cameron Massengill, 85 year old prominent Brookhaven resident for many years, were held from the First Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. Mrs. Massengill, known to a number of friends and relatives as "Miss Flossie", died in King's Daughters Hospital early Saturday morning after a long illness.

A native of Fayette, Jefferson County, Mrs. Massengill had been a resident of Brookhaven the past 67 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Burial was in Rosehill cemetery with Rev Henry Hope and Rev. W. F. Whaley officiating.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert C. Massengill and Dr. Frank Massengill, both of Brookhaven; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five first cousins, Mr. L. R. Featherstone, Mrs. F. P. Harrison, Sr., Mrs. George T. Warren, Mrs. Sam Herring, all of Brookhaven, Mrs. S. T. Lott of Bude, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearer were Julian Cameron, Fulton Neal, Walter D. Becker, F. F. Becker, II, James Grafton, Andrew G. Smith, Russell Cummmins and Aubrey Felder.

Honorary pallbearers were physicians of Brookhaven and Elders and Deacons of the First Presbyterian Church.
