Funeral for Robert Bond Sr., 66, of Somerville will be Monday at 1 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommie Smothers and the Rev. Jesse Higginbotham officiating.
Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Shelton Funeral Home.
Mr. Bond died Saturday at his home. He was a retired farmer and Fruehauf Corp. worker. He was born July 5, 1927, in Lawrence County.
He is survived by one son, Robert Bond Jr. of Somerville; one daughter Adele Saunders of Somerville; one stepson, Eugene Speegle of Hartselle; two brothers, Henry Bond and Eddie Bond, both of Somerville; one sister, Dorothy Haddock of Killen; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eddie Bond, Heath Bond, Victor Lemmond, Orbin Dempsey, Darvin Speegle, Brett Speegle and Jim Woods.
