Alzina Chiasson, 93, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur.

Mrs. Chiasson was born February 14, 1917, in Gueydan, Louisiana to Cleomer and Henrietta Richard. She has lived in Port Arthur most of her life and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and their altar society.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Percy Chiasson, second husband, Frank Jaetzold and daughter, Charlotte Bassett.

She is survived by her son, Louis Stanley Chiasson of Groves, Texas; daughters, Mona Faye Sassine of Dallas, Texas and Linda Fontenot of Hemphill, Texas; sister, Myrtle Boutte of Nederland, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010, from 5 p.m., until 8 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duc Duong officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
