Asa Ragsdale Dies at 59, Funeral at Renick Wednesday.
Asa Ragsdale, 59, life-long Randolph Countian, died at 11:55 O'clock Sunday morning at McCormick Hospital here. He had been in failing health the past three years but was seriously ill only the past four days and was brought to the hospital only a few hours before his death.
Mr. Ragsdale's death occurred on his thirty-second wedding anniversary. He is survived by his widow; a son, Crisler Ragsdale, of the home; two daughters, Irene, of the home, and Mrs. Cecil Martin, Kirksville; two brothers, Lee Ragsdale of Chicago and Herschel, who lives in California, two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Cotter, Oak Park, Ill., and Mrs. Rose King, Denver, Colo.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Ragsdale was born near Old Elliott and spent his entire life in this county. He resided on a farm a mile west of Renick at the time of his death. He was a member of Renick Christian Church. The body has been taken to the residence and will remain there until the funeral hour. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Renick Christian Church by the Rev. E. Y. Keiter, Christian minister. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
