Dale R. Castor, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend was born December 17, 1943 in Marshalltown, Iowa and died on April 21, 2010 after a very short illness.

Dale grew up in several Iowa towns including Lakota, Titonka, Fairbank, Burt, and Sutherland where he graduated from high school in 1962. He later moved with his family to Hills, Minnesota where for several years he was employed by the Hills Crescent. In 1972 he moved to Audubon, Minnesota where he was employed as the parts man for a semi trailer repair shop. In 1986 he moved to Rochester where with guidance and training of AMC, he worked for Tyne Well, as a janitor for local restaurants and for the past 15 years for the City of Rochester in the ZIPS bus program.

Dale was active in the physically handicapped community. He was an original resident of Newbridge Apartments and organized and ran game and movie nights. He served on the board and participated in various activities of RADAR. He won awards for his service in the handicapped community. He was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church. But the most important thing in Dale's life was his family. It was the time he spent with them that made his life complete.

Dale is survived by his father, Russell of Stillwater, MN; a brother, Dan (Judy) of St. Michael, MN; four sisters, Lynn Lucich of Tacoma, WA, Karen Larson (Jim) of Rochester, MN, Susan Boeve (Edwin) of Stillwater, MN and Jennifer Hamlet (Marc) of Billings, MT; eleven nephews and nieces and several great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen; his twin brother, Daryl; an older brother, Hadley; a younger brother, Rodney; paternal and maternal grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Bill Lucich.

Dale's funeral will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. There will be a visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Union Chapel Cemetery near Ira, Iowa.

Memorials are suggested to the Lakeview Hospice, 927 W Churchill Street, Stillwater, MN 55082.

Dale touched us all with his spirit, courage and his smile. To know him was to love him, and we will love him and miss him forever.
