Percy Dodge was born February 28, 1818 in Delhi, Delaware County, New York. Percy married John S. Head February 22, 1844 in Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York. Her parents were Newell Dodge and Deborah Akin. Percy's family originally came from Wethersfield, Connecticut.

John and Percy had six children:

1. Newell Samuel

2. Samuel

3. Horace Eugene

4. Josephine Deborah

5. Emma E.

6. Alice M.

They lived in Sheldon, New York until about 1865. Percy, John and family then moved to Plainview, Minnesota sometime around 1865, just after the Civil War. According to the 1870 U.S. Census, Percy and her husband John were living in Elgin, Minnesota. In the 1880 U.S. Census, Percy, John and daughter Alice were living in Dodge Center, Minnesota. Sometime after 1880, John and Percy probably moved with son Newell and his family to Fargo, Dakota Territory. Percy died August 19, 1890 in the Dakota Territory/North Dakota. According to Greenwood Cemetery records, the cemetery plot was purchased by her husband J.S. Head.
