Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Springtown. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: The family will greet friends Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hubert Leatherwood was born September 28, 1923 to Maynard and Alice Leatherwood in the Toto community near Poolville, Texas. He was the seventh of 10 children. Hubert was married to Margaret Wolfe on November 16, 1944. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Hubert was retired from General Dynamics and had been a cattleman all of his adult life. He was loved by all who knew him and was especially popular with his great-grandchildren who loved to help feed the animals and take a ride with him on the tractor. Hubert loved to work with his cattle and kept a meticulous yard. He will be greatly missed. Hubert was preceded in death by a son, Harold Gene Leatherwood in 1966.
Survivors: Wife, Margaret Leatherwood of Springtown; son, Wayne Leatherwood and wife, Tammy of Springtown; two brothers, M.J. Leatherwood of Poolville and Harry Leatherwood of Weatherford; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
