William R. Brewster was born at _______, Ia., September 25, 1891 to George and Sarah Prentice Brewster.

He was married to Stella Martin on October 28, 1920 and to them one son and three daughters were born: Wayne of Wood River, Nebr., Alice Mae of Rolling Meadows, Ill., Mona of Chicago, Ill., and Marcia of Holdrege, Nebr.

William was associated with his stepfather in the produce business until his step-father's death. He and his son Wayne continued the business until his retirement in 1958.

He was a veteran of Military service in World War I, and was a member of the American Legion and Modern Woodman of America.

He passed away on July 31, 1966, at the Mary Lanning Memorial hospital where he had been a patient for the past 35 days, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 6 days.

Besides his wife, son and three daughters, he is survived by 24 grandchildren and host of friends.

Services were held at ten o'clock in the morning from the Merten-Butler Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 3, with the Rev. W.H. Holverson and the Rev. Homer Clements officiating. Miss DeAnn VanBoening was soloist, and organist was Alvin Willems.

Active Casket Bearers were John Brehm, Merten Baker, Clarence Banks, Darrel Versaw, Ivan Karr and Ervin Meyer. Honorary Bearers were Byron Vaughn, John Bock, Carl Goll, M.I. Stark, Charles Moede and Guy Courtright.

Burial was made in the Blue Hill Cemetery.
