Funeral services for James G. "Pete" Allen, 85, of Paducah, formerly of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at 1 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.
The Rev. Curtis Harrell officiated at the services. Burial followed in the East End Cemetery, Cadiz.

Mr. Allen died on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at 11:49 a.m., at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, of natural causes.

Mr. Allen was born on April 23, 1918, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late James O. and Pearl Bridges Allen.

Mr. Allen was a member of East Baptist Church in Paducah, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, a retired auto parts dealer, and a 50-year member of Paducah Masonic Lodge No. 127.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John "Happy" Allen, and Orval Allen.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Audra Cunningham Allen of Paducah; two sisters, Sarah Mae Guier of Hopkinsville, and Ruby Jewell Miller of Paducah.
