Etta Agnes Slusher, 79, of Edna, died Tuesday in a Victoria hospital.


A native of Van Zandt County, she was born June 18, 1908, to the late John T. and Minnie Crumpton Holden.


Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Temple Church in Edna with the Rev. Howard Boyd officiating.


Burial will follow the services in Memory Gardens of Edna under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.


Surviving are seven daughters, Nila Fae Davis, Ruby Yvonne Tipton and Kathie Browning of Edna, Kay Anderson of Houston, Troylene Jetton of Ganado, Leota Flowers of Yukon, Okla., Juanita Phillips of Helena; four sons, Solan Goggans of Pueblo, Colo., Charles Goggans of Arcadia, Travis Slusher of Smithville, Forrest E. Slusher of Deer Park; a sister, Minnie Spaulding of Beaumont; two brothers, Wesley and Wylie Holden of Grand Saline; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Forrest Slusher.
