Margaret arrived with her parents in 1871 in the United States.
They lived in Pennsylvania till 1882 before arriving in Preston, Idaho, USA.
Magaret married Thomas Kershaw in Salt Lake city, Utah, USA on the 1st February 1883 at the L.D.S (Latter Day Saints) endowment house.
Margaret and her husband, Thomas went to the The World's Columbian Exposition (also known as the Chicago World's Fair) was a world's fair held in Chicago in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World in 1492. They would have seen the first Ferris Wheel or may have tried new products like Juicy Fruit gum, Cream of Wheat, Cracker Jacks, Shredded Wheat Cereal, and Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
Helen Keller, along with her mentor Anne Sullivan and Dr. Alexander Graham Bell, visited the fair as did Serial killer H. H. Holmes with two of his eventual victims, Annie and Minnie Williams. Magician Harry Houdini and his brother Theodore performed their magic act too. They may have seen Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show just outside the edge of the exposition which he set up after being denied an exhibition in the fair.
Thomas travelled to Great Britain and lived there from the 30th April 1907 till th 13th March 1909. He was living there doing missionary work as part of the Latter Day Saints. His own family had moved to the US after meeting missionaries in England. Margaret and their children meanwhile was supported financially by Thomas's family.
Thomas and Margaret had 11 children together.
Margaret Ann Kershaw died at 4 p.m. on the 11th May 1934 at home, 339 East Oneida street, Preston, Idaho. She was aged 66 years, 7 months and 15 days old. She died of acute appendicitis.
Her funeral was held at 2 p.m. a Preston Latter Day Saints Fourth Chapel in Preston.
Margaret was buried next to her husband, Thomas at Preston Cemetery, Preston, Franklin county, Idaho, USA on the 14th May 1934.
