Francis Stella Giles Schmittel passed away July 25, 1997, at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 31, 1942 in Heber City to George E. and Roberta Bond Giles.

She was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Served with all of her heart, mind and soul. Gifted in many ways, including as an artist. She wrote poetry, which she shared with everyone.

Married William O. Schmittel, Aug. 12, 1972.

Survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Amy and Mia; sons, Blair and Kelly; brothers, Thomas Bert and Donna, Joe and Peg, Steven and Joan all of Charleston.

Funeral services will be Monday July 28, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Deer Creek/Charleston Ward. Friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary and Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment Heber City Cemetery.
