Mrs. Halvorsen, Tn. of Hutchins Dies on Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Halvorsen, 81, Town of Hutchins, will be conducted at the Church of Nazarene, Mattoon.
Mrs. Halvorsen died Sunday March 21. The Rev. James Thornton and the Rev. Ole Zettus will officiate and there will be a spring burial in Woodlawn cemetery at Mattoon. Friends may call at the Kopitzke Funeral Home, Birnamwood, afer 2:00 p.m. Wednesday until 11:00 .m. Thursday and then from noon until the time of the services.
Mrs. Halvorsen was born Oct. 21, 1883 in Sonningbalin Norway. She came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Jacobsen when she was nine years old. They settled in Milwaukee.
Anna Jacobsen and Hans Halvorsen were married on Dec. 4, 1904 in the Town of Hutchins. The couple continued to live in that township. Mr. Halvorsen died in 1931.
Survivors include one son, Adolph of Town of Hutchins, and two daughters, Miss Elizabeth Halvorsen or Town of Hutchins, and Miss Violet Halvorsen of Chicago. Also a brother, Adolph, of Tucson, Arizona, and a sister, Miss Ruth Jacobsen of Town of Hutchins. Also 2 grandchildren.
A daughter and 2 sons preceded her in death.
