H. James "Spanky" Patz, 52, of Blairsville (West Wheatfield Township), passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at UPMC Oakland, Pittsburgh. A son of Harold E. and Dorothy J. (Trenney) Patz, he was born Sept. 24, 1957 in Latrobe.
Jim graduated from Derry Area High School in 1976 and worked as a well tender for Penneco Oil Company, Delmont. He was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville. He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy E. (Brown) Patz whom he married June 23, 1995; his mother, Dorothy J. Patz, Blairsville; three children, Jason E. Patz, Derry, Kayla A. Brown, Blairsville, and Justin L. Patz, Derry; a brother, Bruce E. Patz and wife Cindy, Blairsville; his father- and mother-in-law, Wally and Peg Brown, Blairsville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold E. in 1992; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Beverly J. Banyay officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
