Funeral for James Alexander Darnell, 74, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Holmes officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Darnell, who died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Parkway Medical Center, was born January 17, 1936, in Morgan County to Benjaman Darnell and Kathleen Finn Darnell. Mr. Darnell was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War and had worked for Wells & Tate Electronics and Madison Electric. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Vestavia Hills Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hill Darnell; daughter, Tina Martin of Decatur; three sons, Michael Darnell, Jimmy R. Darnell and John Darnell, all of Decatur; four sisters, Janet Douglass and JoAnna Douglass, both of Florida, Peggy Darnell of Bay Minette and Judy Darnell of Ardmore; brother, Bobby Darnell of Decatur; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.

Honorary pallbearer will be Tom Jordan.
