Lillie died November 15, 1906...about a year after Rowena was born. She was the first of four Woodards to be buried in Grady Cemetery during the following 17 years. Next was her husband William in 1915, then his mother Mary Jane in 1915 and finally his father James Madison Woodard in 1923.
In the 1910 Census for Ellis County, her widowed husband William and daughter Rowena are enumerated in the household of his father James M. Woodard.
Lillie's daughter, Rowena was orphaned in 1915 when borh her father and grandmother Mary Woodard died. So at the age of 10 she was taken in by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha Venable. She is listed as their granddaughter living in their household in the 1920 census.
